Video Text: Philosophy always involves critical reflection, and so what we find for thousands of years is that people have lived in societies where they've lived on through terror and violence, and so philosophy is a way to give us some insight, some in-depth analysis. We tend to use these terms like "terror" and "violence" as slogans, and so to think seriously and critically about them, we find that philosophers often had some good insights about the nature of terrorism, and how people have coped with terrorism, and often how they've been able to overcome it.
