Little known fact about you: I like opera and sometimes daydream of being a great tenor.
Fondest UMaine memory: It’s hard to choose but two rather different ones come to mind: witnessing my first salamander migration in the woods behind Hilltop in 1971 and delivering the commencement address as an eleventh hour substitute for Sen. William Cohen in 1996.
Favorite place in Maine: Cobscook Bay
Favorite place on campus: Cross-country ski trails
What inspires you most? Nature
If you could invite one person – living or dead – to dinner, who would it be? Teddy Roosevelt
Why? Because he seemed like an extraordinarily capable person with diverse interests and he initiated so many aspects of U.S. conservation policy.
